Choosing an intentional community like Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm Cohousing for your home includes learning about our community culture and how members cooperate with one another to take care of our shared resources and enjoy our shared lives. Below is the process for "buying in" to Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm Cohousing as we enter our 16th year in residence, as well as documents describing how the community is organized including neighborhood by-laws, our current book of agreements and guidelines, our annual budget, and core values.
If you are interested in purchasing a home at Nubanusit, we recommend you take the following steps:
When a home at Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm is offered for sale:
Sales of Nubi homes are private transactions between the owner and buyer. When a Nubi owner announces their unit is for sale, offering details are first shared with current and prospective members for two weeks, and then posted to our mailing list and this website. Some owners engage a realtor who lists the unit for sale to the public via MLS search. Once a Purchase and Sales Contract is signed with the owner, the new buyer(s) are added to our email list serve and the Nubi Orientation Team gets in touch to begin your welcome to the neighborhood!
Condominium Documents
The original Public Offering Statement (POS) was approved by the NH Attorney General on January 16, 2007. The POS was part of the Purchase and Sale agreement and included the Declaration including by-laws recorded at the Hillsborough County Registry of Deeds at Book 7925 Page 267 on November 28, 2007. Prospective members are advised to carefully read Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm, a Condominium’s current Declaration and Bylaws (posted below).
If you are interested in purchasing a home at Nubanusit, we recommend you take the following steps:
- Review this website and determine your interest in living at Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm Cohousing. Be sure to answer the “Are we a match?” questions.
- Schedule a visit and meet some neighbors, and get your questions answered. In-person Open Houses have not been held since the covid pandemic, but individual and family visits or virtual visits via Zoom are very welcome! Scheduling an in-person or virtual tour can be made by email or by leaving a voice message at (207-200-6824).
- The Nubi Membership Team encourages everyone to review the condominium documents and neighborhood agreements and guidelines (see below) and email us with any questions you have.
- It’s a great idea, whenever possible, to attend a community meal or other gathering to meet more neighbors and get any remaining questions answered. Let us know if you are interested in becoming a prospective member.
